Are you a woman between the ages of 40 and 60 years old with complaints of perimenopause and live in the Dayton, Ohio region?
Dr. Wendy Chorny, PT and Dr. Betsy Donahoe-Fillmore, PT along with the University of Dayton’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program invite you to be part of an exciting research study focused on the effects of yoga on the menopause transition. We are seeking women who are ready to volunteer to participate in our program. By participating, you’ll be contributing to a growing body of knowledge about perimenopause and the effects of yoga on managing those symptoms. Yoga has many health benefits for the mind and body, the menopause transition is a perfect time to begin yoga. During this time of a woman’s life she will experience over 100 symptoms of perimenopause, and we want to know how yoga will help women manage those symptoms.
What’s In It For You:
A chance to improve your overall mobility, learn about yoga and breathing practices.
Qualified Participants MUST Be:
Be between the ages of 40-60 years old
Have self-reported symptoms of perimenopause (the menopause transition)
Be willing to be seen at initial data collection, at 3 months and 6 months for assessment by Dr. Wendy Chorny, PT
Willing to participate in exercise a week at home
Qualified Participants MAY Be:
Be randomized to a control group, which means we still need you, but you may NOT receive the exercise routines until the end of 6 months
